Network Consultant – Senior and Mid-Level

Position responsibilities:Providing on-site network management and support for a set of assigned customers

- Establishing and maintaining networks, servers, and systems by designing, proactively managing, and troubleshooting network problems
- Interfacing with clients and communicating with management

- Strong technical and problem solving skills

- Strong hands-on/practical experience with the following technologies: Windows Server 2008/2012, Exchange Server 2007/2010/2013, Small Business Server 2008/2011, Active Directory, Citrix, Blackberry Server, Firewalls (Sonicwall, Watchguard, etc.), DNS, DHCP, VMWare preferred.*

Desktop Support Specialist
We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Specialist for our Palo Alto location.
Position Description:
The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for acting as first tier technical support handling customer issues. This position will be a member of a team of Desktop Specialists that will be the initial contact point for SPoC call-in customers and will perform initial analysis and troubleshooting to rectify problems as well as escalate problems as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the initial contact for customer initiated issues.
- Handle customer initiated issues.
- Handle IMS generated issues.
- Perform bench-level hardware troubleshooting and repair as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on IMS customers’ networks and systems.
- Maintain acceptable patch levels on assigned networks.
- Document and prepare higher level issues for level 2 and level 3 engineers.
- Provide on-site technical support as needed.
- Provide functionality testing on new patch releases as needed.
Requirements:
- Intermediate knowledge of desktop operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X)
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Beginning/Intermediate knowledge of networked workstation and server configurations
- Beginning/intermediate knowledge of network devices (routers, firewalls, switches)
- Excellent communications/customer relationship skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Educational Requirements:
- AS/BS in Computer science or related discipline, A+, Network+, MCP or equivalent industry experience.
Work Experience Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of desktop experience
- Help Desk experience a plus
- 1 -3 years server experience a plus

Senior Server Admin
Location(s): Palo Alto, CA

Single Point of Contact (www.singlepointoc.com) is seeking to hire a Senior Systems Engineer to provide services to our clients from our office in Palo Alto, CA.
- The individual in the position will be responsible for providing Level 2 and 3 IT Support to clients throughout the bay area.
- Travel to provide these services to clients in bay area.
- Advanced knowledge of VMWare, HyperV, and shared storage (Left-Hand, DAS, NAS, etc).
- Knowledge of PCs, including desktop and laptop hardware and knowledge of the operating system (XP, Vista,7), business applications, servers and associated applications including Exchange, Sharepoint and Server 2003/2008.
- Intermediate knowledge of Cisco networking gear, including ASA products, Routers, Switches and Firewalls as well as knowledge of other networking gear.
- This position requires local travel to support clients at their location. Reliable transportation, ability to lift 50 pounds (computers, servers, etc.) and a strong work ethic are required attributes.

Database Administrator
- Administer Oracle RDBMS system, utilizing the Linux Operating System, Oracle 10gR2 and 11gR2 with RAC (development, test and production).
- Extensive experience with Oracle RMAN (backup, recovery and cloning) is required. Disaster recovery experience is required. Linux/Shell scripting is required.
Key components include:
- Analyze performance issues in different Oracle environments, orchestrate tuning efforts with different groups
- Understand Database architecture, data management, partitioning, compression, and devise data archive methodology
- Upgrades and migrations from Oracle 10g to 11g using RMAN.
- Participate in various initiatives like new database builds and projects.
- Monitor and administer Oracle RDBMS, RAC and Dataguard components, using OEM, SQL scripts with the ability to use manual methods if necessary.
- Administer backup, recovery and environment refreshes using RMAN and scripts, evaluate alternate or hardware strategies as need arises
- Perform upgrades, patches and installations of Oracle RDBMS, Clusterware and RAC components
- Administration of Oracle ASM and filesystems.
Qualifications
- Advance knowledge of business process analysis, functional specification
- Experience working with and communicating with cross-functional groups (development, qa, production, systems administration)
- Experience working with Oracle Technical Support to obtain diagnostic outputs and correct procedures
- Experience with Linux Operating System
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science or engineering preferred3
- Hands on administration of Oracle Dataguard
- Thorough understanding and hands on experience using Oracle RMAN backup/recovery utilities
- Thorough understanding and hands on experience Oracle Clusterware
- Thorough understanding and hands on experience Oracle ASM technology
- Hands on experience tuning SQL, PL/SQL and database objects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
